The “Climate-optimised forest management” project selected by us focuses on the reforestation and preservation of forests in the canton of Graubünden. This represents an important measure in the fight against climate change.  Thanks to our support and other climate protection contributions, the project is able to save approximately 33,057 tonnes of CO₂ every year.

Specifically, some 12 forest owners in Davos and Prättigau have committed to relinquishing the use of their managed forests over an area spanning 13,000 hectares. This is allowing for biodiversity and natural habitats to be protected, while additional CO₂ is also being removed from the atmosphere. With the income generated from the CO₂ certificates, the forest owners are obliged to reinvest in the forest with measures to provide other forest services.
